Zhukov is one of the SICC Imperial Leaders, who is trying to help fill the big paws of Zeke. Zeke passed away in November 1997, and Zhuk and Zia joined our family shortly thereafter.

As Zhuk and Zia joined Keile, Zoe, Ipswitch, Pyewacket, Brittany, and Zuel (God rest her soul), we thought it best to separate them in our spare bedroom for awhile. We just didn't know how everyone, including the kids, would react to our other family members. That lasted about one day. After very little time, all were getting along nicely.

What we hadn't counted on was the way that Keile would handle the new relatives. Keile had only been a member of the Zwemke household for about a year, and had never bonded with any of the other cats. After Zeke died, the "hiararchy" in the house fell apart. The top cat was gone, and Keile was too young to fill his shoes, try as he might. As you can see, Keile bonded with the Imperials almost from the first day. We were so grateful that Keile finally had a furry body to love (make that two!).
